Privacy policy

This page explains what information ABG · Acid–Base Lab ("we", "the app") collects when you use the site, how it is stored, and the choices you have. Plain language is used throughout. Nothing on this page is legal advice.
No patient health information
The app is an educational tool. Do not enter real patient identifiers. Arterial blood gas values you type into the Interpret, Solve, Learn, or Teach views are processed in your browser and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
What we collect
- Account data — email address and authentication metadata when you sign in.
- Progress data — your Learn quiz attempts (case id, your answer, correctness, timestamp) so we can show streaks and accuracy.
- Anonymous analytics events — page views and feature interactions (e.g. "preset loaded", "view changed") with no personally identifying payload.
- Error logs — runtime error messages and stack traces to keep the app stable.
What stays on your device
- Theme preference (light / dark).
- Reference range customisations from the Ranges settings panel.
- Onboarding tour completion flag.
How long we keep data
Account and progress data are kept while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time. Anonymous analytics events are retained in aggregate.
Cookies and local storage
We use browser local storage for the preferences listed above and for your authenticated session. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share data only with the infrastructure providers required to run the app (authentication, database, hosting), under their standard contractual terms.
